Training Bahraini artists to change the CG world

Bahrain is building a vibrant Digital Arts economy and Think Tank is a part of it.

There is a growing community of Bahraini artists looking to take their love of Film & Games and to step into the world of CG.

In 2023, Think Tank partnered with Tamkeen, the Kingdom’s economic labour fund, to build a comprehensive, career-oriented training program that teaches Bahraini artists the technical skills, real-world software and production workflows required to excel in the industry.

Called the Passion to Profession Digital Arts Training Program- it is the first of its kind in the region- and will foster the growth of a localized Film & Games industry while promote existing VFX, Animation and Game Art companies to establish studios in Bahrain.

We want you to transform Bahrain’s digital arts industry.

This fully-funded opportunity prepares Bahraini artists who are looking to work in the CG industry. This program has been designed to turn those with little-to-no experience in 3D to experts in 3D software and industry-standard techniques. Ideal candidates will be passionate artists who can commit themselves to the rigours of the program.

CG Asset Creation for Film or Games

64 weeks / diploma

Think Tank Bahrain brings our signature online program to life in a unique hybridized setting. Learn the fundamentals of 3D Modeling and Texturing before specializing in either Characters & Creatures or Environments and Props for Film or Games. Work both remotely and at our state-of-the-art facility in Manama alongside an award-winning VFX Artist. Graduate with the critical career skills and industry-ready portfolio that is required to confidently step into an exciting career in CG.

Term 2

Complete your mentored demo reel.  Undergo job readiness training for the next step.

The Think Tank Campus in Manama

Located inside the recently renovated Dana Mall, this brand-new campus features a comfortable classroom with ergonomic seating designed with collaboration and training in mind. Steps away, you’ll find the Epix Cinemas, a variety of unique food vendors, and D11, a one-of-a-kind Esports facility.

What are the language requirements?
This program is taught entirely in English. It is expected that you complete your application in English as well. You must also meet Think Tank’s Standard English Language Requirements.

Standard English Language Requirements:
For applicants from countries where the primary language is something other than English, the applicant must demonstrate English proficiency.

The preferred method to test your English proficiency is Duo Lingo—a testing platform that works globally, and has equivalencies for TOEFL. You'll meet Think Tank's admission criteria if your score is above or equal to TOEFL 65, IELTS 5.5, or Duo Lingo 90.

What kind of workload can I expect in Think Tank Bahrain’s hybrid program?
There are over 1,890 instructional hours in this program. For every instructional hour, there is approximately 30 minutes of homework. Think Tank students can expect a workload between 40-60 hours per week. You will also be expected to attend the Think Tank Campus in Manama, Bahrain, for a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Please Note: to succeed, we recommend forgoing all employment to adequately attend to the programs full-time schedule. This will prepare you for the demands of working in a fast-paced, intense, and highly rewarding industry.
What are this program's admission requirements?
Accepted applicants must meet both Tamkeen’s Admission Requirements and Think Tank’s General Admission requirements.

Tamkeen Admission Requirements:
Must submit a Passion to Profession application here.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be present in Bahrain by the start of their program.
Applicants will be asked to submit additional details by Tamkeen upon being considered

Think Tank General Admission Requirements:
After completing the Passion to Profession application, applicants must submit a General Think Tank Application here.
Applicants must apply to the CG Asset Creation for Film or Games program and list the start date that coincides with the next Passion to Profession Digital Arts Training program intake.
