• How often do Think Tank programs start?
  Whether it's online or in person, we have three program starts per year: February, June, October. We often end up having a waitlist too, so the best thing to do is apply for your desired program as early as possible.
• What are the Tuition payment options?

  Think Tank offers a number of flexible tuition payment options. While you are welcome to pay your tuition in full upon acceptance to a program, we also have instalment payment options. These are designed based on the individual student and their needs. Please speak with the Think Tank Admissions Team for more information.

• What can I expect to pay in Tuition at Think Tank
  At Think Tank, we understand that your education is an important, life-changing investment. Working with you, we make sure you're fully informed, prepared and confident before your start date. Select an individual program for specific tuition costs.

• Are there Financial Aid & Funding options available?

  Yes! Investing in your education is a big decision. Depending on your eligibility, there are several financial aid, funding and installment tuition payment options that may help you cover the cost of studying at Think Tank Training Centre.  Please review our Financial Aid & Funding Options page for more information.
  

• What can I expect from Think Tank's admissions process?

  Think Tank has developed an admissions process to keep you headache free. After reaching out, a member of our Admissions Team will be in touch to guide through the entire process—answering any questions you may have, and helping you choose the right program.

• Does Think Tank require an application fee?

  Yes! The application fee is $200 CAD for any program, including Online, Campus, and Hybrid options. The application fee is paid just before submitting your completed application.*
  
  *All application fees are non-refundable

• Is there an age and/or high school requirement for Think Tank?

  Every program at Think Tank requires that you’ve graduated from high school (or equivalent) OR be at least 19 years of age by the program’s start date.

• Is there an English proficiency requirement for Think Tank?

  Prior to acceptance, applicants must meet at least one of the following English language proficiency requirements: 

  • Completion of 3 years of full-time secondary education (Grades 8-12), or 2 years if the Grades are 10, 11, or 12, have been successfully completed from a country where English is one of the principal languages, or...
    
    
  •  Completion of 2 years of full time post-secondary experience at an accredited institution where English is the language of instruction, or...
    
    
  • Provide verified results for one of the English language proficiency tests listed below.  Test results must be dated no more than two years before the start date of the program.
    
    Recommended English language proficiency tests:
    • Duolingo English Test: minimum overall score of 95 or higher.  
    

    Note: This is the most affordable and convenient test (available online with quick results!)

    Other Accepted Tests:
    • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum overall score of 5.5 or higher.
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) IBT: minimum overall score of 46 or higher.
    • Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test: minimum overall score of 40 or higher.
    • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: minimum overall score of 43 or higher.
    
    If you have yet to take your English proficiency test, and/or are taking English lessons, you're welcome to complete your Think tank application now and submit the results later. As long as you meet the English proficiency score before the first day of school, you'll be able to start your program.
    
• Will I have to provide examples of my work when applying to Think Tank?

  Depending on what program you're applying to, you may be asked to provide examples of your work to exhibit your drive and/or previous CG experience. Select an individual program for its program specific requirements.

• Do I require a study permit to attend at Think Tank?
  Any international student entering a program where they will study in Canada for more than six months, requires a study permit. For more information about eligibility and the process of obtaining this type of permit in Canada, read the gov’t of Canada website.
  
• Is there housing at the Think Tank Campus

  The Think Tank Campus does not include housing, nor does acceptance to a program or tuition cover housing. However, we do the best we can to find each campus student a housing arrangement that suits their needs.

• What is the GuardMe Student Support Program?

  The GuardMe Student Support Program (GMSSP) connects you with free, confidential emotional health and wellbeing support conveniently available 24/7 via the app, telephone and web. 
  
  This is the first support program to use linguistically and culturally matched licensed clinicians, providing students a welcoming place where they are comfortable to seek help. GuardMe is available in both internationally and in multiple languages. Learn more about this program on their website here.

  All Think Tank students are required to subscribe to the GMSSP. There is an additional mandatory charge of $5.00CAD/month which covers unlimited use of the program.

• Are there breaks in classes throughout the year?

  Yes! There are Study Breaks, Term Breaks and Statutory Holidays.

  Study Breaks Online and Campus programs have three 1 to 2 week Study Breaks a year: Spring (March), Summer (July), and Winter (December). During these periods there are no Online Live Sessions and Campus attendance is not mandatory (instructors may host make-up classes on Campus during this time which you may be expected to attend).

  NOTE: We recommend using these breaks to work on your projects and assignments. Spending the whole time on vacation will result in you falling behind.

  Upcoming Study Breaks:

  • Summer Break: July 27, 2026 - August 2, 2026—No classes (Campus hours TBD)
  • Winter Break: December 22, 2026 - January 3, 2027—No classes (Campus hours TBD)

  Term Breaks

  Online and Campus programs have three two-week Term Breaks between each term: late January, late May, and late September (sometimes into October).

  NOTE: Take some time to relax during these periods, but make sure to stay up-to-date on your CG skills and ongoing projects, so you come back to Think Tank prepared for your upcoming term!

  Upcoming Term Breaks:

  • Term Break 1: May 25 - June 7, 2026—No classes. Regular Campus hours TBD
  • Term Break 2: Sept 21 - Oct 4, 2026—No classes. Regular Campus hours TBD

  Statutory Holidays
  Think Tank observes British Columbia's recognized Federal and Provincial Statutory Holidays. Campus is generally closed during these dates. NOTE: Live Sessions for Online students might still occur on these dates.

• Does Think Tank accept mature applicants?

  Yes! Think Tank consistently has mature artists who apply for, and succeed within, our programs!
  
   If an Applicant is 19 years or older at the start of the program and is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident who cannot access is their educational records or provide sufficient evidence of secondary or post-secondary education as outlined above:

  • Applicant provides attestation that they have completed at least three years of full-time instruction in English in a country where the English is one of the principal languages, and...
    
    
  • Applicant completes an Accuplacer English Assessment (Next Generation: Reading, Writing and WritePlacer) and achieves the following minimum scores: 
    • Reading: 235
    • Writing: 235
    • WritePlacer: 4
