My name is Boyd McKenzie. I’ve been working in the games industry for about 18 years now. I’ve worked for companies such as Bioware, DICE, Relic, and The Coalition. Some of my bigger titles are Mass Effect 2 and 3, Dragon Age Inquisition, and Battlefield: Vietnam. I’ve had a pretty broad variety of specialties in my career, but I’m mainly working on Environment Art these days. Recently I’ve gotten more in to Unreal, Substance Painter, and Photogrammetry. I really enjoy mentoring and leading when I can at my place of work, so mentoring students is a great extension of that. I’m definitely my own biggest critic, and I can take you through some of my thought process when I’m trying to improve my art. With my experience, I can tell you what it takes to land a job in this industry, and hopefully help you on the way there yourself.
